Architecture, Series I

This series of eleven photographs features modern architecture around the city of Seattle, Washington, including the Dale Chihuly Gardens, the Seattle Spheres, and the Seattle Public Library Main Branch Building.

Sculpture, Series I

This series of eight photographs features modern sculpture from the West Coast, including the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California and the Dale Chihuly Gardens in Seattle, Washington.

Sculpture, Series II

This series of nineteen photographs features modern sculpture at Frederick Meijer Sculpture Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Shattering Silence

This series of nine photographs features the sculpture entitled Shattering Silence by James Ellwanger, taken at various times of day, at sunset, and at night. The iconic sculpture stands at the top of the hill overlooking the skyline of Des Moines, Iowa, next to the Iowa Supreme Court building.

The sculpture is in commemoration of the 170th anniversary of the landmark 1839 Iowa Territorial Supreme Court ruling that prohibited slave Ralph Montgomery from being extradited back to Missouri after he failed to raise the $550 he promised to pay to buy his freedom. The Iowa Art Council’s newsletter describes the art as a commemoration of “those moments when Iowa has been at the forefront of breaking the silence of inequality and commemorates those Iowans who refused to stand by silently when they saw injustice.”

This series of nine photographs features modern architecture from around downtown Austin, Texas, including the Austin Public Library Main Branch building and the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin.

This series of seventeen photographs features modern sculpture from around the Midwest, including Des Moines and Ames, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska.

Minneapolis Sculpture

This series of twelve photographs features modern sculpture from around Minneapolis, Minnesota, including the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, as well as the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, Minnesota.
