Digital Marketing

At different times in my career, I’ve been responsible for content generation and/or overall management of social media and email communications for several different types of nonprofits. I specialize in social media for arts organizations, but I work with a broader range of nonprofit clients for communications management and digital marketing.

Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff

Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter

As one of the top art fairs in the country, the Krasl Art Fair On the Bluff is much more than your typical local arts-and-crafts fair. Artists apply to participate, so the level of creativity, skill, and artistry is quite impressive. Nearly 200 artists participate each year and the fair draws 50,000+ visitors to the small town of Saint Joseph on the shores of Lake Michigan. During the years that I lived nearby, I really enjoyed interviewing the fair’s artists so that I could share their stories on social media and publicize the event. Below are some samples of the content that I created to post across the organization’s social media platforms. If you have the time, stop to read the explanations of how each artist works or what inspires them. Each story is a gem!

Youth Art For Healing

Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter

Youth Art For Healing is a nonprofit whose mission is to bring works of art created by youth into healthcare environments to provide a sense of comfort, inspiration, and healing for patients and their loved ones, and healthcare professionals. When I began working for YAFH, we decided to develop a stronger focus for social media content to tell the organization’s story. Students, teachers, doctors, nurses, other healthcare staff, community partners, and the students’ artwork are all important to telling the YAFH story. In particular, we brought the student artists and healthcare professionals to the forefront of our social media storytelling.

Mosaic CCDA

Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter

Mosaic Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) is an organization dedicated to supporting and revitalizing Benton Harbor, Michigan and the surrounding area. The organization has evolved many times over the years, providing programs, services, and social enterprises that support the community and its residents. Mosaic’s core programs include job training, entrepreneur development, neighborhood revitalization, a resale store dedicated to sustainability, and Feel Good Fridge. While working with the organization, I helped them explore how to ramp up their social media storytelling and bring both their job trainees and their volunteers more to the forefront of their donor communications.
